NORMING ASSET MANAGEMENT

I'm getting the following error when running depreciation for a period. I had ran the depreciation for atleast 3 categories of assets. The remaining two category of assets displaying the following error messages then it created an empty depreciation batch list. (From SAGE 300 version 2016)

For Book, no asset was depreciated in period 2025-01, which is possibly caused by the following reasons:
1. Period 2025-1 is not selected in depreciation period.
2. The start date of all assets is later than depreciation date.
3. The net value is less than the salvage value for each asset
4. The specified depreciation period in in future year

I took the database dump and loaded it on SAGE 300 version 2022 and the depreciation batches were created with no errors.

What could be the reason for this.

Norming Asset Management works well for handling fixed assets in Sage 300, but if you're working with a huge volume of assets and need better tracking and reporting, scalable digital asset management might help. It makes organizing, accessing, and maintaining assets easier, especially as your business grows. I've found that using it alongside Norming Asset Management can improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure better control over assets across different locations.

In Norming, one asset can be included in depreciation only when it meets the following conditions:
    1. Asset's status should be 'Normal' or 'Ready to Dispose'.
    2. The fiscal period of asset's start date should be earlier than or equal to the running depreciation period. Eg. Asset's start date is 2025-05-30, the fiscal peirod of the start date is 2025-05, when you run depreciation of fiscal period 2025-06, it can be ran. If you run depreciation of fiscal period 2025-04, it cannot be ran.
    3. Asset's last depreciation period should be earlier than running depreciation period.
That means, when you run depreciation for period 6, the last depreciation period for the asset should be period 5 or an earlier period.
    4. Asset should be included in you selected range in depreciation entry.
    5. Go to A/M Setup->Depreciation Period, and locate 'MONTHLY' period, and check if the running depreciatio period is 'Yes'.
