Stock Aging report

Hi All,

One of our clients is trying to generate the Standard Sage stock aging report. However, as per the client, the report takes at least few hours to generate and then another hour to export it in excel or PDF.

Has anyone faced such issue or can advise what are some of the checks i can do to identify what could be causing the slowness.

client is on Sage 300 2023 Premium PU5.

    Hello Dhiraj, 

    The Stock Aging report is a fairly complex report that requires significant calculation and database size and number of item records can contribute to the performance displaying the report.

    When your client's report is displayed to preview, how many pages are there? 

    Are you including all records/items?  perhaps try limiting the range of items as a test?

    Hi  please confirm  's questions about the number of pages generated by the report, and try a smaller range.  If its confirmed that the database contains a large number of records, I can point you towards articles I've written here previously regarding database optimisation which can reduce report times from hours to minutes or minutes to seconds.  You also want to make sure the workstation/RDS client has a no-latency LAN style connection to the database server and 1GBit throughput minimum (never run a client through a VPN).  Look forward to hearing your response to  's questions.
