subscript out of range - loading Business Intelligence (license manager, report manager or report viewer)

Solved

when loading any of the license manager, report manager or report viewer - 90% of the time i receive the error "launch error" subscript out of range.  If i close that error and click and load the item again the error continues to show - i have to do this 3 - 5 times and then eventually the error goes away.   One of them reported that if they closed sage, open excel first and then load sage and load the item again it fixes it - but I have tested it and that isn't reliable.  Honestly its seems more like it is fixing itself by the fact that it takes them 5 min to do all that (close sage load excel load sage again) not that the actual act of doing those steps actually does anything.  Has anyone got this error and know how to resolve.  The client is moving way from BI becuase when they see that error all the time its like holding their breath to know if they can run financials that day or not as there never quite sure how many clicks or if it will even work today.   Its notable that this is happening on a reasonably slow VM running Sage classic client.  The normally use web client for all other activities.

Usually , i would try to perform a general repair on BI if there is anything not working well. Below is the step i used, let me know if that worked.

From within Excel, go to File, then Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings button > Trusted Locations and Add new
location to browse to add C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files.  Be sure to select the box for the subfolders.

After adding that location, exit out of Excel and all Office applications, and run a “Quick Repair” on MS Office from the Control Panel.

thanks for posting this - I have never checked the trust center before - I have done a general repair of BI and gotten errors - uninstalled and re-installed.   this could be helpful.    I almost always try the quick repair first.    The weird thing is i only have one site that every has this issue.  I have lots of users of BI.
