Inquiry Regarding MAPADOC in SAGE 500 2023

SUGGESTED

Hello,

We recently upgraded to SAGE 500 2023 with MAPADOC 8.20.

I noticed that the Translator field, which was previously available (as shown in the attached figure), is no longer there.

While investigating, I found that MAPADOC was acquired by SPS some time ago.

Does this mean that if I want to set up EDI with another trading partner, MAPADOC is no longer an option? If so, what alternative solutions would be available for managing EDI connections?

I appreciate any insights you can provide.

Best regards,
Maru Gonzalez

    Hi  ,

Thanks for your patience! I checked with the Sage 500 support team, and they confirmed that Sage has not supported MAPADOC for a long time—Sage 500 version 2014 was likely the last version that included it.

For EDI solutions, this would now fall under customizations, and you would need to reach out to your Business Partner to explore available EDI options. Currently, Sage 500 only offers Data Import and Data Porter for pushing data into the system, but there is no built-in third-party solution to replace MAPADOC’s functionality.

Let us know if you need further clarification! Hoping the community can also share insights if they’ve implemented alternative EDI solutions.

    Best regards,
