Sage 500 and BitLocker On SQL Server

Can Sage 500 work with a SQL Server System that has BitLocker enabled on it?

    LOUDAVIS,

Sorry but this took a bit to test out, here is some preliminary information.

This was not, in the past, a standard setup that we have tested

I have now set this up on one of our test servers (Server 2019 with SQL 2017).    I have been working with this yesterday and today.

From what I have seen so far:

BitLocker can be set up per drive.

if BitLocker is turned on for the OS Drive (in my case also where SQL Server is installed) it does not work.

If you have your Data Files on a separate drive:

Having BitLocker turned OFF on the OS Drive (where SQL was installed for me) and Turned ON for the separate Data Drive (where my SQL Data was located) it appears to be working fine so far, I will be leaving this option turned on for this server for the foreseeable future and we will keep an eye on any issues that arise.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin
