Attempting to Process 1099s But Getting Error Message

Hi!

I am trying to process 1099s. My company uses Sage 500 (Version 8.00.0) and Aatrix for e-filing. When I try to start the process I get the following error message:

 

When I check the folders, the Aatrix software is installed. I tried to speaking to Sage Support, but I didn't get anywhere with this. All they sent was this email to me:

"Good afternoon.  Thank you for taking my call today for this issue on 1099 processing.

As discussed, it doesn’t make sense why the DB has no minimum PU if 1099 was processed in this system last year.

To check this, please ask your IT to run this SQL query for us to determine the actual status of your DB.

  • select * from tsmDBHistory order by EventEndTime desc

NOTE:  You really need your IT to install applications in your AWS hosted DB. 

Procedure.

  1. Upgrade Sage 500 with PU 7 or higher.  From v8.00.00 to v8.00.7 or higher

Both Server and client

  1. Make sure you have 1099 Tax Update for TY 2021 and 2022 for Sage version 2019

If none based on sql query at table tsmDBHistory, please install it.

  1. Install the 1099 Tax Update for TY 2024 for Sage 2019 (Server and Client)
  2. Install the Tax Form Service.  This should be the last one.

I am absolutely lost on this. Any help is appreciated.

    The message box you received indicates that the Sage 500 ERP software did not locate the Sage 500 ERP Tax Forms Service on the client machine where you were processing 1099s.  The Sage 500 ERP Tax Forms Service  is really just the install for Aatrix Software that Sage 500 ERP uses to process 1099s.  Sage 500 ERP calls that Aatrix Software and they take it from there.  We normally recommend that you only install this on a client machine where you plan to process 1099s as the Aatrix Software stores various files locally.  Please check the following on your client machine:

    If you do not see this, then you need to install it on the client where you will process the 1099s.  The Sage 500 ERP Tax Forms Service was updated for TY 2024 due to some Aatrix Software changes, so make sure your version indicates 24.x.x.  If you do not see this, or if the version indicates something less than 24.x.x, the you will need to install this.  It can be found on the Sage customer portal.

    If all looks fine here, then you can manually check for what the code is checking for.  Wherever your Sage 500 ERP client is installed (Commonly "C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage Software\Sage MAS 500 Client", you should see a directory called "Aatrix"

    Also note that the Aatrix directory must exist as shown under the Sage 500 ERP client install.

    Visit this directory and look for a file called "AatrixForms.exe"

    I believe this is what the Sage 500 ERP software is doing.  If it does not locate that file, it will pop the message box you are seeing.  Note that it may be possible for the "Aatrix" directory to exist but not the "AatrixForms.exe".  This can happen if the Sage 500 ERP Tax Forms Service is uninstalled under certain cases leaving behind a few remnant files and the "Aatrix" directory without the "AatrixForms.exe" file.  Also note that the "Aatrix" directory must exist under the Sage 500 ERP client install.  If you do not see "AatrixForms.exe", then please install the CURRENT Sage 500 ERP Tax Forms Service available on the Sage customer portal.
