Attempting to Process 1099s But Getting Error Message

Hi!

I am trying to process 1099s. My company uses Sage 500 (Version 8.00.0) and Aatrix for e-filing. When I try to start the process I get the following error message:

When I check the folders, the Aatrix software is installed. I tried to speaking to Sage Support, but I didn't get anywhere with this. All they sent was this email to me:

"Good afternoon.  Thank you for taking my call today for this issue on 1099 processing.

As discussed, it doesn’t make sense why the DB has no minimum PU if 1099 was processed in this system last year.

To check this, please ask your IT to run this SQL query for us to determine the actual status of your DB.

  • select * from tsmDBHistory order by EventEndTime desc

NOTE:  You really need your IT to install applications in your AWS hosted DB.

Procedure.

  1. Upgrade Sage 500 with PU 7 or higher.  From v8.00.00 to v8.00.7 or higher

Both Server and client

  1. Make sure you have 1099 Tax Update for TY 2021 and 2022 for Sage version 2019

If none based on sql query at table tsmDBHistory, please install it.

  1. Install the 1099 Tax Update for TY 2024 for Sage 2019 (Server and Client)
  2. Install the Tax Form Service.  This should be the last one.

I am absolutely lost on this. Any help is appreciated.

    Greetings!

Hope you are doing well. I see that you have opened a case with Sage 500 support already and you need assistance with installing the 1099 for TY 2024. Let me try to clarify what the analyst has sent. Inorder to process and submit your 1099s for TY 2024 the following requirements should be met:
    1. The Sage 500 database should be in the correct Tax Year 2022 state. This can be checked by running the script - select * from tsmDBHistory order by EventEndTime desc - in SQL Management Studio. You should see all the 1099 Tax Year updates in the results. Make sure that TY 2022 is listed. If the database doesn't have the correct Tax Year state the 1099 process will fail.
    2. If the TY 2022 is not listed based on the first step then you need to update your Sage 500 database and client to the correct Product Update in this case you would need to install and run the PU7 or higher update for both server and client.
    3. After you have installed PU7 or higher on both server and client then you can proceed with installing the 1099 TY 2024 updates for both client and server
    4. Finally you will then need to install the new 1099 TY 2024 Tax form services
Please be advised that before you perform any updates to always back-up your database and if at all possible do this in a TEST environment so you can revert back if something unexpected happens. Also, if there are any customizations in your database it's best to engage your Business Partner as any update might remove those customizations and might affect your system/environment.
If you need further assistance I will request the Analyst to reach out to you and do assist you on how to setup your environment and install the 1099 TY 2024 updates properly.
Thank you and have a great day.

If you successfully ran 1099s last year for TY 2023, it is highly likely that you have the correct data state.  The last IRS driven changes that affect the Sage 500 ERP 1099 data state were for TY 2022, so if 1099s were successfully process for TY 2022 on, you should be ok with regards to the "1099 data state".  My previous post as to the message box is a separate issue.

If you have not previously submitted 1099s since TY 2022, then you should be at the Jan 2023 PU level for your version or greater.
