Are there any risk(s) associated with compacting the MetaData?
Is it worthwhile?
Sage 500 2017 and Sage Intelligence.
Hi Steve,
As the description on Compacting the Repository -
"Compacting your Metadata can result in improved system performance. Depending on your usage levels it may be desirable to do this more often."
I do this once in a while, but before I do this, I make sure that I have a complete backup of the Metadata Repository, and no one is on SI before performing this task.
Hope this helps.
Thank you,
TonyD
Thanks Tony, I did see that article but wanted to make sure I understood best practices. We will likely give it a shot.
Hi @Steve, if this suggested answer resolves your issue, please mark the reply with answer verified thank you!
Once we compact it I'll verify the answer then, or would you like me to do it prior to that?
This is the location of the templates correct, that is does not compact the SAGE database itself?
Correct. This is only where all of your SI Templates are stored, and not with the Sage Database that is on your SQL Server. Thanks!
