Sage 500 Printer settings issue

Im trying to get my reports to print using a zebra printer and whenever i print i have to select the printer >go to preferences> change page size every time i print. Im using windows remote desktop and this issue is only for the printers that dont show as (redirected). I have tried to set print defaults in the windows settings and have made the printer the default printer but it still reverts the page size settings every time. How do i change the printer settings defaults so that when i try to print in Sage the settings will be the same every time.

    Hi Travis,

What version of Sage 500 are you and the end-users using?

And since the issue only happens on printers that are not redirected are the changes to the settings made from the Printer UI Window when you try and print a report or are the changes done from the Printer & Scanners section of the Windows OS itself?

Let me know as we may need to ask you to create a support case so we can further investigate. Thank you.

It's always a bit tricky when you have to deal with inconsistent settings every time. I totally understand the frustration of manually adjusting the page size each time you print from Sage. It's almost like a game of 'guess which setting will stick today!' Joy

One tip that worked for me in a similar scenario was to tweak the printer's default settings directly from the server side and use a script to force the printer preferences on login. That way, the settings are applied automatically, no matter how many times you connect and disconnect from maximtimeclock the session. Might save you a couple of clicks!

But yeah, printer redirection in RDP can be a beast sometimes. It would be great if there was a universal fix for this, but it’s usually a matter of tweaking the settings at several layers. Keep at it, and hopefully, Sage and your Zebra printer will start playing nice soon!
