Maintain Items Page Error: User Disconnected After Working on Items

The user can initially work on the Maintain Items page in SAGE without issues but suddenly get kicked out.

I tried closing the SAGE sessions for the database, which seemed to resolve the problem temporarily, but the error reappeared after working with about three items.

What could be causing this?
Since this happens on both the client and the remote connection, I don’t believe it’s an installation issue.

Thank you in advance for your help!

This is basically an error that has no identified source. Given your previous post on the Crystal problem, you might be  encountering an incompatibility or permissions problem, or the system(s) are not properly resourced for the number of users/activity.

The lookups generally run in their own workspace and open a separate connection to the database. This requires local resources as well as SQL Server resources. If either encounters performance problems then it could lead to nebulous errors. Check your system logs, monitor resource activity, verify you are on supported platforms, then try an uninstall and reinstall using a local administrator if you can't identify any other source of the problem. You always need to install Sage 500 client using an administrative account but in some system and domain configurations you need to perform the installation specifically as local Administrator.

If you are using a virtualized server, slowdowns might occur because of resource usage at the host or because of another hosted server. This applies to the client(s) as well and SQL equally, so you may need to monitor systems to narrow down the cause, but a proper reinstall might be the easiest place to start.
