Adding Paycheck

Hello to whom it may concern,

I am trying to add a new paycheck for the next fiscal year but I am still currently in this current years fiscal, how do I change this setting to where I can still go back last fiscals if need be?

You will need to run the year end wizard under Task/System/Year End Wizard. It will make a backup during the year end. You can restore that backup to a new company if you need to reference anything in the closed years. The live file will also still have all the data in the closed years but you cannot enter new transactions in the closed year but you wouldn't want to if the tax return is completed anywar.

Your are not closing 2024, You are actually closing 2023. So you currently have July 2023 to June 2024 and July 2024 to June 2025 open. When you go thru the wizard, you're closing July 2023 to June 2024 and opening July 2025 to June 2026.

So, you can go back to "last fiscal year" and post entries.
