Screen is zoomed out

Suggested

Hello everyone!

I use the Sage 50 Quantum Accounting Cloud. I logged in a few days ago and the screen is now super zoomed out. I attached a screenshot.

I'm not sure how to change it or if it can be changed. I didn't see any settings that could be adjusted for this specifically either.

Any help is greatly appreciated,

   thank you!

    Hello.

Did suggested solution worked? One of our user actually have same problem right after SAGE's maintenance update today. The thing is, nothing has been changed on User's computer side(didn't even restart computer from last night), all other programs show correctly without any changes but this sage. I know regular remote desktop can set the resolution(unfortunately this cloud remote cannot control those things), maybe something screw up on this setting on cloud?

Anyways just wondering you fixed this problem or not.

Hello! Unfortunately, no, it didn't work. My issue is like your user's-- all other programs show up as normal except for Sage. It's really hard on the eyes lol. Hopefully there will be an update soon to fix this.

I ask Sage to check on this already, not sure they are willing to fix. And also fix for all or just our company's.

Sage is basically remote connection to cloud computer (VM), so you cannot control resolution which means whatever resolution you have with scale, it will not apply, that's why still small. And by default, this remote using your resolution to match the screen without scale (I am not sure how it set up before but probably it wasn't use this default setting, instead it may had a fixed resolution on their side with cloud, that's why it was ok before). Anyways for workaround this problem, you can simply change the Resolution to something lower and change the scale to 100% or 110% (Again remote computers cannot use this scale, and this scale is like zoom, so even though your computer's resolution is high that make everything small, it scaled/zoomed to look bigger). Only problem with this is whole screen may becomes blurry. You can try this until they change the setting or something.

When I contacted Sage Support, they did not want to accept responsibility for the issue.  Per Senior Technician, "the resolution is not linked to the conversion.  The reason for this is the recent Window update, which changed the display of publish apps" and Sage does not address issues from third parties.

A lot of things they either they don't know or they don't want to help you. Simply they don't care.

Anyways a quick question, are you using Sage 50 Cloud? Is it working? We couldn't use Sage 50 Cloud for 5 days now. They are not opening anymore. I been tried email/call.. still nothing. Not sure this is only us or same for other companies.

I do have Sage 50 Cloud.  My program is working.  I am also using a Mac.

Thank you for the response. I am wondering what's Partial Outage means Now: https://status.sage.com/
I thought this was wide outage but looks like only for some company like us then.

Anyways, this is not an solution for your screen problem but as I said can be fixed from Sage or their cloud team: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/796877/msrdc-remote-desktop-client-update-keep-customized

    and this: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/rdp-properties?context=/windows-server/context/windows-server-remote-desktop-services

Simply change the resolution setting on VM.

If you want to do this setting by yourself, it will be a lot more complicated.

DO NOT TRY THIS, just FYI.

First need to connect with MSRDC which used by Windows App to connect their VM internally. But installed new version doesn't give you the ability to connect (or maybe I don't know how). This means uninstall current version of Remote Desktop connection and install old version of Remote Desktop Connection App. Once successfully connect with this it will create couple shortcuts as what you see from Windows App (3 icons).

Second, right click on Sage 50 icon of shortcut that created from step 1, you will see the rdp file path. Then follow the direction from the link above to add the resolution setting on rdp file. Basically open with notepad for this file, then either change or add right syntax.
    (Ex: desktopwidth:i:1920
    desktopheight:i:1080)

Unfortunately you probably fail from first step, especially when you use Mac, even Windows 11. It's not that easy to get old version of MSRDC, and even though you are successfully install, it will automatically update by itself that you cannot use this connection anymore (you have to disable auto update)... I will say just pray and see Sage do their work or not.

I wanted to update everyone on the Windows App Scaling issue.  Don't laugh, but I finally resorted to Chatgpt.  After trying several things, Chatgpt was able to help me find a working solution.

Open the Windows App.  Click the Windows App Icon at the very top left hand corner.  Go to Settings-General-Optimize remote apps for Retina Display when possible-OFF. (Mine was turned on during the update)  It was that simple.

Do not change your resolution or your display settings in "Settings".  This will effect all your programs on your computer.
