You could record the time against a job via either a general journal entry or a sales/purchase invoice if you don't want to figure it into payroll.  In these cases you would not use time tickets but rather simply make accounting entries.

Thank you, Donald.  Do you think adding myself as an employee but not ever creating a paycheck would be an option?  I would really like to make use of a time tracking app for convenience, but I can't do that unless I'm listed as an employee.

I don't mean to contradict Donald, but you would actually use Time Tickets for this, and just never pull those into a Customer Invoice, or onto a Payroll Check. That way, you can run reports on the time that you enter (billable vs non-billable, Customer vs Admin Time, etc.), without any financial impact on your system. You can even assign values to the Time Tickets and still, they will have no financial impact on your system other for reporting purposes.

Thanks Tammi.  Would I be fine if the time tickets were pulled into customer invoices but never payroll?  My only concern is that I don't appear as a taxable employee since I take owner draws and file as a sole proprietor (SM LLC).

Yes, you can pull them into Customer Invoices without pulling them into Payroll without any problems.
