24 open accounting periods

SUGGESTED

I have recently started using SAGE 50 Premium Accounting, the 2017 version. (Long story about why it was not used before now.)

I need to open the 2025 accounting period while keeping the 2024 open for adjustments that are bound to be needed. But I cannot find a way to do this. I've seen on-line references to there being a Task that will make this possible, but I can't find it.

Can anyone help?

    Hi Bill,

You can run the Year End Wizard to close the first 12 accounting periods and open the next 12.  You can go to Task, System, Year End Wizard to begin the process.  If your current open years are 2023 and 2024 after running the wizard your open years will be 2024 and 2025.

    Thank you.

Thanks DonaldC. However it does not solve my problem.

Your reply talks about "current open years" being 2023 and 2024, but sadly that's not the case.  At present I have only 2024 only. I want to keep it open while working on 2025.

I have the feeling that because my version of SAGE 50 is from 2017, I'm stuck with a version that allows only one year at one time.

Donald's answer is correct. Your two current years should be 2023, Periods 1-12, and 2024, Periods 13-24. When you run the Year End Wizard to close off 2023, it will move 2024 into Periods 1-2 and open 2025 into Periods 13-24. All versions of Peachtree for Windows and Sage 50 had the ability to have 2 years open at the same time.
