Critical Alert - Did you have 2024 SP2 installed? Do not close or rebuild your General Ledger files until you have contacted support

If you have contacted support and had your data checked or repaired you can ignore this notice.

If you have not contacted support, please do so now. It is critical that if you had 2024 SP2 installed and processed any transactions that support checks your data before performing a General Ledger close or rebuild.

A critical issue has been identified in Sage BusinessWorks 2024 SP2 that affects all General Ledger postings after the service pack installation.

If SP2 has been installed on your system, follow these steps:

  1. Install SP3 for 2024: Immediately install Sage BusinessWorks SP3 on the server and all workstations to prevent further issues.
  2. Contact support to open a ticket to review your data for posting issues.

For Users Planning to Upgrade to 2024: It is safe to proceed with your upgrade. However, if you have already downloaded SP2, do not install it.

CAUTION: Do not close or rebuild your GL data until you have contacted support to address the data issue. Rebuilding will cause and indicate that your entries have been deleted that cannot be recovered. If a rebuild has already been performed, restore a backup from before the rebuild.

  • Hi Kim,

    I worked with you reinstalling 2024 and SP4 yesterday due to a stuck AP task from a prior update and nothing was mentioned about looking at data before closing GL. I had installed SP2, skipped the problematic SP 3 and went on to SP4. Given that nothing was mentioned yesterday, I am not sure if I should contact support again about the SP2 GL problem

    Sage BusinessWorks 2024 SP3 has no issues.  The issue was with 2024 SP2.  If you had that version installed and have not had support check your data please contact us via chat.
