We’re excited to announce the latest updates for Sage BusinessWorks 2025 SP1 and 2024 SP8
The new 2025 SP1 release delivers important payroll tax updates and helpful new features designed to make your accounting experience even smoother.
Here’s what’s new:
Payroll Tax Updates for:
- Ohio
- Treasury Tipped Occupation Code (TTOC)

Additional Features (2025 SP1 Only):
- New warning message when closing the General Ledger.
- System Backup enhancement – You no longer need to exit Sage BusinessWorks to perform a scheduled backup. The backup can now run while the program is open, as long as no users are actively using it.
- Resolved Issue: Direct Deposit Preview report – Checks are no longer shown duplicate on the Direct Deposit Preview report.
- Resolved Issue: Positive Pay report – The report now exports to Excel without adding a blank first column. A new column has been added at the end of the report to indicate if a check is voided.

Important: If you use third-party products that integrate with Sage BusinessWorks, check with the vendor of your third-party product to ensure their product is fully compatible with this release. If you integrate with other Sage products, check with your business partner or Sage to ensure that these components are compatible.
- Visit the Sage BusinessWorks Download Portal and select to download Sage BusinessWorks 2025 & 2024.
- If you are prompted to log on, enter your Customer Portal Username and Password, and then click Log on.
