Question:

Payroll checks are printed every Friday for our employees in our company, the OT premium YTD amount would include OT back from 1/1/26 even the BusinessWorks software is upgraded later in January?  Is that correct?

Thanks for reaching out. As long as you enter the qualified overtime with shift = 6 then the system will know what OT premium amount to include in the YTD totals.

Just curious, why is everyone so worried about showing the OT premium on stubs, it is not a requirement from what I've read????

We used shift indicator 6 at time and a half for OT, but the reportable OT premium shows one third OT versus total. Is that correct? We're currently on 2025 SP2.

This is correct.  If you are paying time and a half only the half time is the OT premium amount. That is the total that is on the stub the qualified OT premium amount or the .5 of 1.5 OT.

Thanks for reaching out. We would recommend reaching out to your tax advisor for specific requirements. We put the premium OT on the paystub to allow employees (and employers) to keep track of the premium amount that might qualify for the credit.
