ODBC error message

I've run into a problem with one of my new computers when trying to run ODBC in excel on a file that I've used for years.  The machine is running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2013.  The excel file still runs fine on one of my other machines that is running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010.

the message I get is "Specified data could not be loaded due to system error 126: the specified module could not be found (Timberline Data C:\Program Files (x86)\Timberline Office\Shared\tssimba.dll)"

That dll does exist in that location.  I cannot seem to add the data source to the machine and I need some guidance.

I will first say Office 2013 is at best untested and you are in an unknown. Per KB75150 Which Microsoft Office versions are compatible with Sage Timberline Office? – “Microsoft Office 2013 is currently not compatible with any version.”

However; adding a DSN to the 32-bit ODBC administrator does not have anything to do with what version of Office you are attempting to use. The error code 126 generally represents that the location your Windows registry is pointing to for the dlls is not the same location the dlls actually reside. You will most likely need to verify and/or correct the Windows registry or reinstall Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate on the workstation. You can follow the steps in either KB105466 Error: Specified driver could not be loaded due to system error 126. or KB90805 Error: The Setup routine for the Timberline Data ODBC driver could not be loaded due to system error code 126.
