Streamlining Purchase Order Entry

We are looking for some ways to streamline the entry of purchase orders.  Our shop staff do not enjoy data entry as much as I do so if anyone could give some advice or strategies beyond having standard items established I would welcome the assistance.  We are currently using version 9.8.
