Question

Is it possible to write data using excel and ODBC to Sage 300 without purchasing 3rd party software? Is there a tutorial on how to set this up. I would like to input vendor insurance cert information using a grid instead of opening each vendor and commitment.

Hi Beth! 
 Great question! There are several different ways that you can accomplish this. It will depend on your time, budget, and how familiar you are with ODBC, setting up DSNs, and Microsoft Access. 
 You can use Microsoft access to retrieve the AP Vendor table into a grid and then modify the vendor insurance information and write that back to the table. The process is very similar to the steps for copying vendors, found in article 69231 in the knowledgebase. Login to Https://support.na.sage.com to review the steps. 
 Alternatively, if this is something you think you may have to do frequently, you can purchase Office Connector Write, which automates the process for you using Microsoft Excel. You can use it to update many different tables in the database, including the AP Vendor. If you would like to explore this further, message me and I can get you more information.
