Sage Fixed Assets 2026.1 is here! Get ready for a smoother tax season

A new year is here—and so is Sage Fixed Assets 2026.1!

Our mid-January release delivers the tax updates you need to stay compliant, plus several enhancements that make everyday asset management feel lighter, faster, and more intuitive.

Here’s what’s new:

Up-to-date U.S. tax compliance

Updated Section 179 limits, refreshed Auto/Truck caps, expanded SUV allowances, and support for the latest IRS Form 4562—so you’re covered whether your fiscal year is calendar or non-calendar.

Improvements you’ll feel right away

  • “Immediate” is now the default Adjustment setting
  • A new 50-year life option where required
  • Cleaner, faster depreciation expense analysis with a direct Excel export (subscription licenses)

A fresh new Assistance Center

A redesigned experience that brings help, training, and AI-powered answers from SFA Ally together in one place.

Fixes that make your workflow smoother

Smarter asset creation from CIP, more reliable photo-intensive imports in Tracking, and corrected report prompts.

How to update

Important: Before upgrading, consult with your business partner or Sage to ensure that this update is compatible with customizations, integrated applications, and other configuration options. If you install this update independently, you assume responsibility for any impact on your system.

If you're updating from Sage Fixed Assets 2025.1 or later, it is quick and easy to download the 2026.1 release via Sage Advisor Update. If you are using version 2024.1 or prior, follow the steps to download the release from the Sage Knowledgebase.

Sage Advisor Update (version 2025.1 or newer)

Sage Advisor Update may have already notified you about the availability of this release via a pop-up message in the Microsoft Windows system tray. Didn’t get the notification? No problem—follow the steps below to get the release via Sage Advisor Update:

  1. Go to Start, All Programs, Sage, and select Sage Advisor Update.
  2. If the 2026.1 release is not listed, click Check for Updates.
  3. After the release is found, select it, click Download & Install or Download Only and follow the prompts to complete the process.

Sage Fixed Assets Cloud customers

For those on Sage Fixed Assets Cloud, updates to 2026.1 are automated. Sage Fixed Assets Cloud sites will be updated to 2026.1 on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET.

To update to Sage Fixed Assets 2026.1, download the product update from the Sage Knowledgebase or contact your Sage business partner:

  1. Click the following link to open the Download Portal article: Sage Fixed Assets Download Portal
  2. If you are not logged on, click Log in on the right-hand corner of the page.
  3. Select your product to download.
