Short Lived Assets

We have a location that will conclude its lease within a year.  We've had some leasehold improvements that needed to be given useful lives in just months.  The problem is that the deprecation is not calculating as we expect.  Its calculating depreciation much higher in the first month.  We can't reverse engineer the calculation in a way that makes sense to us.  Our home office is questioning the system's accuracy.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

    Hello Ron,

If I knew all the detailed book information of the asset in question and maybe the calendar information in the company, I could tell you in painful detail exactly how the program is calculating.

Right now, I could not even begin to guess.
