Depreciation of Fixed Assets

Can I depreciate my fixed assets before month-end? For example, can I run depreciation on 5/29/2024 or do I have to wait until 5/31/2024? My goal is to speed up my closing process. So rather than waiting until 5/31/2024, I assure all assets are inputted and then run depreciation on 5/29/2024, with a posting date as of 5/31/2024.

    Hi Brandon,

    Yes, you can depreciate your assets for the full month whenever you choose. In your example, you would 'Calculate Depreciation through the following date:' 05/2024 (or 05/31/2024 if using Premier Depreciation) for all assets.
