     Hi Nenita,

Thanks for reaching out —Here are a few things you can try that often resolve freezing or hanging issues in Sage Fixed Assets:

    1. Confirm how the report date is being entered

If the date entered falls outside the current reporting or depreciation period, Sage may hang while recalculating values.

For reference, see:  How to run a report for a past or future period

Try entering the date in MM/DD/YYYY format and ensure the date aligns with the asset’s depreciation period.

    2. Check for damaged or incomplete data

If the freeze happens only with certain assets or reports, it may indicate data issues. A corrupted record or incomplete value can cause the report engine to hang.

    3. Check for environmental issues

Freezing during report generation can also be caused by:

    • Insufficient Windows permissions
    • Antivirus scanning the database files
    • Network interruptions
    • A stuck reporting process

Similar troubleshooting applies here:  Custom import hangs on Step 6

    4. Test report access from Utilities

If Utility reports also freeze or show errors, this may indicate an environmental or permissions issue.

See: Error: “Unhandled exception has occurred” when accessing Utility reports

    5. If Sage completely freezes and will not close

    This can indicate:

    • A damaged or corrupt report template
    • A registry or cache issue
    • A permissions problem affecting the reporting engine
    • A deeper problem with the database

At this stage, it may require direct assistance from Sage Fixed Assets Support.

    Next steps:
If the issue continues after trying the above steps, I recommend contacting Sage Support so they can review your report configuration and database directly.

Please let us know what you find — we’re happy to help further!
