Reactivating previously impaired assets

Suggested

Hello

I have an asset that was impaired a year ago. I now have to reactivate it. How do I reactivate and not have all of the accumulated depreciation (between the inactive and reactive dates) show up?

    Hello Stephanie Edge,

You can reactivate it by following the steps: Click on the asset in question, click asset menu, click Reactivate, click save if you are in the detailed asset view.
To have the asset not doing a catch up of the depreciation for the inactivated period use the beginning date field and enter the date of the period before this asset is to start the depreciation again. Also enter the depreciation as it was back when it was impaired into the beginning YTD (YTD amount at the time of impairement) and then the beginning accum (is current accum as of the time of impairement).
