Mass Update an expiration date for a benefit.

SOLVED

I need to do a Mass Update to one specific benefit.  I need to update the expiration date from Jan 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.  The benefit plan code is DENTAL.  We have updated the actual plan but need to update all employees that are assigned to the plan.  Each is showing as inactive and expired.  Can I do this using Expression Builder and if yes, how?

thanks in advance

      Below you will find instructions on how to Mass update Benefit Expiration Date

    If the Benefits "Expiration" date, the "Plan Is In Effect To" date has already past, changing the date to a later date, will not change the ending date on benefits already assigned and expired on employee's. The employee's Benefit Expiration and Coverage End dates will need to be Mass Updated.

    1. From the Navigation pane, select Setup, Employees, and Insurance Plans.
    2. Select the plan to be changed and detail the plan.
    3. Enter a future expiration date in 'The Plan is in Effect to' field and click 'Apply'.
    4. After applying the change to the future expiration date, perform the following HR mass updates.

    Note: Before performing any mass update, make an external back up of the data.

    1. From the Navigation Pane select Employees, Processes and Mass Update
    2. When the mass update screen comes up fill in the fields as shown below

    Mass Update Employee Coverage Ends Date

    Update File: Employee Benefit
    Update Field: Employee Coverage Ends
    Records to Update: Enter an expression to specify the plan code, the company, and employee ID numbers if applicable, ex. Be.b_benecode="Dental" and be.b_company="XXX" (XXX represent the three character company code). This will update all employee’s employee coverage end date, that have the Dental plan listed on their Benefit Insurance detail screen.
    New Value: Enter the new employee coverage ends date in this format: {12/31/2099}

    Mass Update Expiration Date

    Update File: Employee Benefit
    Update Field: Expiration Date
    Records to Update: Enter an expression to specify the plan code, the company, and employee ID numbers if applicable, ex. Be.b_benecode="Dental" and be.b_company="XXX" (XXX represent the three character company code). This will update all employee’s expiration date, that have the Dental plan listed on their Benefit Insurance detail screen.
    New Value: Enter the new employee coverage ends date in this format: {12/31/2099}

    Mass Update Dependents Expiration Date

    Update File: Dependent Benefit
    Update Field: Coverage Expiration Date
    Records to Update: Enter an expression to specify the plan code, the company, and employee ID numbers if applicable, ex. db.b_benecode="Dental" and db.b_company="XXX" (XXX represent the three character company code). This will update all dependent coverage expiration date, that have the Dental plan listed under the Employee Benefits Insurance detail screen.

    Howard31, would the solution presented also update the DENTAL plan of terminated employees and employees that had the plan in the past and subsequently opted out?  In the records to update step, would we need to specify the erroneous Expiration date? E.g,

    B.be._benecode = 'DENTAL' and Be.b_company = 'XXX' and Be.b_expdate = {01/31/2024}
