Advance SMTP Support for ESS

Any word when advanced SMTP support will be available for ESS? Using the internal SMTP service on the web server is NOT an acceptable solution for many clients.

This has been a request for years and yet never seems to get addressed.

Thank you for the interest in Sage ESS support for Advance SMTP configuration. Although Sage ESS is not a messaging application, Sage ESS has an advance built in email forwarding features and supports a variety of email server communication protocols. For example:

    • The Sage ESS in product messaging Message Center feature does not require the need of an exchange email server to send internal notifications for employee requests and approval messages.
    • Sage ESS uses SMTP and that can further be configured to support many types of email server protocols i.e. POP3, and SMTP, and IMAP
    • To simplify the email forwarding configuration requirement with your Microsoft Exchange server, office 365, POP3 and IMAP email server, the Sage ESS System Maintenance interface only requires the SMTP server IP address or the SMTP server name. This simplification eliminates the need of an additional SMTP configuration in addition to the pre-requisite SMTP relay reconfiguration within Microsoft Default SMTP Virtual Server as noted in our Sage ESS installation Guide.

We are happy to provide more information regarding some of the advance features within SMTP Sage ESS supports.
