How do Pay Stubs go from Sage 300 to ESS?

SOLVED

We would like the paystubs to show up in ESS.  We are using Sage HRMS/ESS and Sage 300 Payroll, not Sage HRMS Payroll.  How does HRMS know what Sage 300 database to use to sync paystubs?  I have the correct Admin and password in the Database Setup, but I don't know if there is somewhere else to tell it the payroll database name.

    Dear BWESTLY

Publishing Pay stubs to Sage ESS require set up the Sage 300 Payroll Link to transfer data to Sage HRMS, including payroll history as a pre-requisite. If this is the first time you will attempt to transfer data to Sage HRMS, the steps below will guide you through the process

1 - Follow the instruction available in our Sage 300 Payroll Link integration guide to set up data mappings to transfer data from Sage 300 Payroll to Sage HRMS. Click the links below access  each document.

     https://cdn.na.sage.com/docs/en/customer/hrms/documentation.htm

Once the above steps are done go to step 2

2- Follow the steps available in kb to synchronize pay history to Sage ESS

Synchronize payroll history from Sage 300 to Sage ESS

    HI, NMAX

I have been using Sage HRMS Payroll Link for many years. No where is there is there anything that will write back to HRMS. (other than Time Off, if requested) In this case, the link is working fine to bring information from HRMS to Sage 300 payroll.  Even with the Employer Configuration set up to look at the specific Employer, the Sync in HRMS gives me this: Error in publishing check images from Sage Payroll. "Object reference not set to an instance of an object".  Could it actually be the check format that is the problem? I thought it would look at the payroll check tables and write those to the HRMS files.

    Hello BWESTLY

Thank you for providing this error message info. This error indicate there is a data validation issue between Sage 300 and Sage ESS unable to communicate. This can happen if this is the first time you are synchronizing pay history to Sage ESS. unfortunately since the communication error message does not provide a specific root cause, it will be best to reach out to our Live Chat Support, or submit a portal ticket to better assist with this issue over a live connect.

    Thanks
