NJ Family Leave Tax (NJ0005) in Local/Other Tax Codes - assistance needed for client configuration of tax

A client in NJ has configured NJ0005.  However, on the NJ927, it is not recognizing any wages or rate.  How does this Sage supported tax code need to be configured to push into the Aatrix form?

       Below you will find information on how to set up the New Jersey Paid Family Leave Insurance tax.

    Initial Setup

    On the Local and Other Custom Taxes window, you can set up a custom tax code for the New Jersey Family Leave Insurance tax. When setting up the code, specify the following information.

    Note: This example uses the amounts from 2020. For this year's numbers, refer to the table below and the information for your current tax update.

    Basic Info tab

    • Tax: NJFLI
    • Description: New Jersey Family Leave Insurance
    • Short Description: NJFLI
    • Employee Calc. Method: Percentage of Base
    • Employer Calc. Method: None
    • State: NJ
    • Local Tax Code: NJFLI (select it from the NJ Local Tax dropdown list)

    Employee tab

    • Percent: 0.16
    • Annual Maximum W.H.: 215.84
    • W2 Reporting: Local Tax Box

    Calc Base tab

    • Annual Maximum Earnings: 134,900.00
    • In the Base Earnings Include section, specify the types of base earning to which the tax will be applied.

    G/L Dist tab

    • Specify the G/L account to which transactions should be posted.

    After setting up the code, assign the tax to the eligible employees calculating payroll.

    1. Maximum contribution rate increased to 0.09% of the employee's gross annualized wages.
    2. Annualized premium contribution of 145.25.
    3. New annualized yearly wage of 161,400.00.

    1. Maximum contribution rate increased to 0.33% of the employee's gross annualized wages.

    3. New annualized yearly wage of 165,400.00.

    3. Calc Base tab: Annual Maximum Earnings field.
