cannot remove account 1088 Online Account Receivable

Question

I am on lesson 3 in the Simply Accounting Course and I cannot remove '1088 Online Payment Receivable' from my chart of accounts. It says it cannot be removed while there is a 'linked account'. How do I unlink this account so I can remove this account from my accounts list?

Hi Dustin Wheatley , 
 Thanks for reaching out! Here&rsquo;s how you can unlink this account in Simply Accounting (Sage 50 Canada): 
 
 Navigate to Linked Accounts :
 
 Go to Setup > Settings > Customers & Sales (Receivables) > Linked Accounts .

Unlink the Account :
 
 Check under Invoices and Receipts to see if the "1088 Online Payment Receivable" account is listed as a linked account and remove it if applicable. 
 Also, check under Delivery Orders to ensure it is not linked there.

Once the account is unlinked, you should be able to remove it from your chart of accounts.
