I have two entries for the same client -one for their PH matter and the other for their Trial matter. I want to be able to move their $$ from the PH IOLTA matter (since the money was never used) to their IOLTA for the trial matter. Can this be done?

Long story short, I have a client that we have represented both in the Preliminary Hearing phase and now trial phase. Two separate accounts were created. The $$ that was in the original PH IOLTA account was not used and I want to be able to move it to the other account. Is this possible, and if so, how can it be done?

Assuming the money is in the client funds account you would do two transactions.

    1. Withdrawal from funds. This would be on the matter where the money is currently.

    2. Payment to account. This would be into the matter where you want to use the money.

I would suggest entering a description on each like "Funds transferred from matter ABC to matter ERF".
