Over charge on a bill, can I fix this by editing/discounting?

SUGGESTED

Hi, I was wondering what the steps were to change, or edit a bill that has been generated, however, it has not been sent out or paid yet.

Or can I void the bill, and then the previous timeslips go back on the persons profile, and then I can redo/ re-generate the bill?

Thanks!

Hi  , and welcome to the Sage Timeslips Community.

Can you confirm whether you are using Sage Timeslips ANYWHERE (online only) or Sage Timeslips PREMIUM (loaded on your local computer)?

As a general rule, you will need to undo the bill to be able to make edits and produce a new one. There is no real function of a Void of the bill. You can write it off to remove the invoice from the balance, but it will not bring all the slips back and ready for billing like an undo will.

Thank you for reaching out! I have Timeslips Premium. So would the best thing be to "write it off" within the invoice, and then that way the correct invoice balance will be displayed for the client?

Hmm, I'd check on undo first before going straight to a write off.

From the topmost menus, choose Bills, Undo Approved Bills. Is the client with the incorrect bill listed there? If so, I would check the box to the left on that line item, and click the Undo button for that bill. That will give you a complete 2nd chance at editing the bill and getting it right by redoing the bill.
