More email a per client!

I cannot understand why Timeslips Anywhere only allows 2 emails per client.   In Timeslips there are up to 4 email cells available to bill to.  I have situations billing law firms where they ask for an email to the attorney)s), attorney secretary, office manager and accounting manager. I’ve been asking for this now for over a year.  It’s a simple addition!   It may not be needed by most users out there, but they don’t have to use it then.   Just get it done or I am going to have to go to bill4time or timesolv.

Hey  , I am not sure if Timeslips Anywhere supports this, but have you tried putting more than one email in the field with a semicolon between them?

Test it and let us know what you find.

I have tried multiple emails with a separation semicolon between emails similar to what is done with outlook.  It failed.  It would email to even the first listed email.  Adding multiple emails just seems to kill the email invoices function.  Currently, the only way to email more than two emails is to print out each invoice individually to pdfs and manually email a group with the necessary emails involved.  It’s slow.  It’s tedious and it’s stupid from Timeslips

    Thanks for trying Nancy.

, yeah that is a tough one.

One issue is for Sage is trying to keep Anywhere lean. One of the things folks complain about a lot with the older Premium version is that it is too complicated. Which in a way is true. It has over 30 years of added features, but at what point does that just become bloat? Yes, a small number of users want or need a feature, but by adding it, it takes up screen real estate and over time can make the program cumbersome. You always want your Cloud product to be thin and light so that the load/process time is small.

For Sage it can also be a real bean counter thing when they look at developing a feature. How much is this going to cost in development dollars? How many of our clients need it? What is the opportunity cost of spending those development dollars creating this feature? What other feature doesn't get put in because we chose to produce this one? And often the biggest one for them, will adding this feature generate more sales? That last one is likely the deal killer for you.

When I hit issues like this, I try to think outside the box for some sort of work around using readily available tools. For example, would it be possible (and I honestly don't know the answer to this) to put a single address into Timeslips that then gets received by an Outlook or Gmail account, that then has a rule to forward any received emails to the following four accounts?

If you figure out a work around, please come back and let us know!

Once again Nancy, thanks for the reply.  For myself, your work-around just won't work for my situation.  I think the easiestmonthly billing method (but completely kills the bill run feature), is to manually print out to pdf for each invoice and then find the original request email from the multiple people on the email chain and reply all to the email with the monthly invoice accrued.  Or... look for another cloud based billing software that can handle more than two emails.  I do know Bill4Time does allow for an almost endless number of emails assigned to a client.  I've just been with Timeslips for so many years, it's hard saying good bye.

I assume that nobody at Timeslips reads any of these complaints.  I wonder why bother.

Mark C, you are absolutely correct, Sage Timeslips Anywhere SHOULD absolutely support multiple cc:'s in an email!  Sadly, they are not very responsive to customer feedback and the bean counters take over.  I know and it sickens me as I was a certified consultant for Timeslips until last year when I couldn't stomach the customer treatment any more.  I understand your concern about all those years with the program, but I have had great success migrating clients to other cloud based options when they couldn't take the treatment or support any more either!  Good luck to you!
