If you have come across the post “What-are-the-default-dimensions-associated-with-manufacturing”, you might notice that there is a default dimension called MFIAUT (Auto Released Product) which allows automatically flowing dimensions from some functions in Sage X3 into the WO that's automatically generated using Enterprise Planning.
In this post, I will make use of this default dimension when using Sage X3 PJM.
- Technically, if you want to flow the dimensions from your original source document in this case from your Project Management entry, we will set it using Source Document.

2. Go to Projects > Project Management to create a new Project. To cut short, I’m using Project Copy to duplicate from the existing project.
- Enter the dimension CCT = ACCT-001 and MAR=MAR-128.

- Go to Task planning and create a new task code.
- In Products grid, enter a parent product that’s already configured BOM and routing codes. I used FIN901 and MGL_FIN010 in our standard SEED folder.
- Save it and click Change status button to change the task from New > Launched.

- Go back to the Products grid > click on action card > Manufacturing > Click on Plan to plan the WO for this product.
- Click on Action card again, click on Associated orders to access the WO number WOGM0120042 that’s the system automatically generated.

- Check on the WO Header > Product released. The dimensions from Project are not captured as expected. Why Why Why?

SOLUTION: This issue will be fixed in the next release which is 2025 R2 (V12 P38).
In the meanwhile, you might use the following WORKAROUND to have the correct dimensions flowing to WO:
- Either manually created WO with default dimensions MFI sets to Project.
- Or set the default dimensions MFIAUT using Product or Site.
Hope it’s helpful!
