X3V12 Mongo Shell user

1 minute read time.

Good day,

This is an informative Blog. It highlights some key facts at the time of creation of this blog.
It focuses on the X3 User that is created for the Mongo Shell.

Security Authentication for the Mongo Shell maybe enabled by adding the below line to
the MongoDB Configuration file.

After doing the above a password maybe set against the X3 Admin user, identified by 'admin'
for authenticating into the Mongo Shell

The below lines has to added into the MongoDB configuration file.
This activates authentication into the MongoDB Shell adding an extra layer of security.

However, this blog also confirms that Sage do not support this level of authentication inside
MongoDB for the Sage X3 environment. This is true at the time of writing this blog.

Although a additional authentication to the Mongo Shell is a good idea to help further assist
Sage X3 Customers and Business Partners to navigate through the ever evolving security
landscape which constantly adds new security threats everyday.

We hope in the future that Sage will add the ability to set an additional level of Authentication
at MongoDB Level to further enhance security.
