Custom Reports

So I am fairly new to Sage and we did not get a very good training session. So sorry if this is an easy question that I should have been able to answer. How can I make custom reports in Sage?

I'm trying to find a report on Sales orders (All orders within a specific date range) that gives me the detail of every line but also includes the Reference number field (This is where we store our customers PO number.) I have found 2 reports that are ALMOST what I want but are still missing one or more piece of information I need. I can't find one single report to give me everything. I want to export this report as a CSV file.

I appreciate any help.

    If you are referring to just Sage X3; Sage X3 uses Crystal Reports to run reporting in the software. You would need to have a copy (paid separately) of SAP Crystal Report Designer.  Depending on the version of Sage X3 you have, there is different versions of Crystal Reports. the latest version of X3 is 2024R2 (12.0.36) and it can use reporting codes up to Crystal Reports Designer 2020. Older versions of X3 will use older versions of Crystal Reports.


    If you visit Sage University and search for Sage X3 Crystal Reports, there are several course on how to utilize Crystal Reports with Sage X3.

    This is the basic intro course on how to use and design reports for Sage X3. I would recommend starting with this type of course.

    You can make it through the graphical query tool, if you are looking at open sales orders you can start by making a copy of VEN034

    Then to add the reference, this is in the table SORDER  field CUSORDREF 

    Bring it like this double click on the field and it will be added at the bottom, validate and save.

    You can run the query from Reports-Reports-View queries and export to csv:
