How to recover a deleted Data Model?

Suggested

SEI: 2024R12

When using Sage X3 home page, after login to SEI, the user came across this error:

```
You are not allowed to open this view
```

Using ADMIN user with Administrator rights, at Data Model and Views, using the View ID number, it is noted in SEI that the production-use data model and its views have been deleted.

When I open the view that is linked to the deleted data model.

When I try to Save or Save As, it does not work.

Checking on the CentralPoint's `Resources\processes` path, it is noted that the data model and its many views still exists.

For reference, if the data model exist in SEI:

Question now is, how do I recover the lost data model?

Note that no daily backup of the SEI database is available.

    Hi Chunheng

    SEI does not automatically rebuild metadata from filesystem XML.
    You must re-import the Data Model.

    Step 1 — Confirm the Data Model XML path

    Navigate to:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Nectari\CentralPoint\Resources\processes\

    or your equivalent CP installation path.

    Inside, you should see:

    /<ModelName>/Model.xml

    /ModelName/Views/*.xml

    If Model.xml exists, the Data Model can be recovered.

    Step 2 — Re‑import the Data Model in SEI Admin

    Log in as ADMIN → go to:

    Administration → Data Models → Import

    Then browse to:

    Model.xml

    Choose the XML found in the /processes/ folder.

    Important:
    SEI will only accept an import from a valid Data Model definition file.
    If the XML is complete, the Data Model will come back with all its Views.

    Thanks
