Invoice Layout not updating

Question

I want to change my customer invoice from "Default (Modern)" to "Simple Layout". But no matter what I do, when the invoice prints, it is still printing the same as before (i.e. it is showing VAT etc when I don't want these fields). I have changed it both in the Company Settings and updated it on the Customer List, but to no avail. 
 The reason I want to do this is that I am using multi currency and billing in dollars for this particular set of books, and I do not want RSA VAT on these dollar based invoices. Maybe I need to change the company's country to USA, but how do I do that?

 Regarding your immediate issue with the invoice layout not updating to exclude VAT fields, the system's default behavior ties closely to the region-specific version of Sage Accounting you're using. Customizing invoice layouts beyond the provided templates can be limited because of this. 
 To enable and use foreign currency transactions, including USD, this article provides a detailed guide on how to process these transactions. Here are the key steps you should follow:

Enable Foreign Currency Transactions : Go to Settings > Business Settings > Financial Settings > Currencies, and select "Enable Foreign Currency Transactions." You can choose to use live exchange rates from the European Central Bank or enter rates manually.

Update Contact Records : For each customer or supplier you're billing in USD, go to Contacts, select the customer or supplier, and in the Options tab under Account Details, select Currency to choose USD.
