CJK Connect provides sales, support and training for accounting and payroll software, as well as comprehensive outsourced payroll services. The approach is centred around understanding each client's individual requirements and providing practical, cost-effective solutions that help businesses work more efficiently and get the most from their technology.
Industries Served
CJK Connect serves businesses across all industries, with a particular focus on the micro to medium-sized business market. Regardless of the industry or size of the business, the team takes the time to understand how the organisation operates and what it needs from its accounting and payroll systems. This allows them to create tailor-made packages that provide the right combination of software, services, training and support at an affordable rate.
How CJK Connect Uses Sage Products
The team uses Sage Accounting and Payroll cloud products to enable clients to work from anywhere, providing the flexibility and accessibility that modern businesses require. They also sell, support and provide training for Sage 50c Pastel products.
The Team
The team consists of seven consultants with more than 30 years of combined industry experience:

A Consultative Approach
When meeting with clients to assess their needs, the aim is to understand their business rather than simply sell them a product. The team then creates tailor-made packages that meet specific requirements while remaining affordable. They support both traditional on-premise environments and setups where software is hosted on a virtual machine, allowing clients to access their systems remotely. They provide both remote and on-site assistance to clients throughout South Africa.
The consultants have the knowledge to deal with complex accounting and payroll issues, including advanced data fixes. They are also able to develop Sage Intelligence reports and work with third-party software providers to find solutions to more specialised client requirements.
Training
Training is another important part of the offering. The team includes Sage Certified Trainers, allowing them to provide on-site training for Sage products as well as related systems such as SARS e@syFile. Having the right software is only part of the solution; ensuring that users understand how to use it effectively is equally important.
Outsourced Payroll
CJK Connect also uses Sage products internally to provide outsourced payroll services to clients. Payroll clients range from businesses with a single employee to companies with thousands of employees. For a number of clients, they make use of Sage's employee self-service functionality, allowing employees to request leave, submit claims and view their payslips online or conveniently through a mobile app. This reduces the administrative burden on the employer while giving employees easy access to their own payroll information.
Success Stories and Achievements
Desktop Accounting Software and Reporting
Using Sage Intelligence, the team created a consolidated management pack for a client using Sage 50c Pastel Partner. The solution consolidates the financial information of multiple entities into a single management pack, providing management with a comprehensive view of the group's financial performance. They also automated the distribution of the management pack on a scheduled basis, removing a significant amount of manual administration and ensuring that the relevant people received consistent and timely financial information. The management pack has subsequently become a cornerstone of the client's decision-making process.
Cloud Accounting Software
CJK Connect assisted a very large company in moving from its existing accounting system to Sage Business Cloud Accounting. Before recommending the migration, they conducted an initial assessment to ensure the cloud solution would be suitable and deliver the benefits the client expected. They then tested the solution with the client before assisting with the data conversion and training of staff. Once the company began using the new system, they continued to provide ongoing support and training for new users. The migration enabled the client to access real-time financial information at the click of a button, and the careful planning and implementation process ensured a smooth transition.
Payroll Software
The team helped a client transform its payroll process by moving from a completely manual payroll system to Sage Pastel Payroll. The previous process required days of manual calculations and reporting. By implementing Sage's technology, this was reduced to just a few hours, resulting in a significant saving in administrative time and a much more efficient payroll process.
Outsourced Payroll
CJK Connect recently took over the payroll function of a company and was able to provide an improved service at half the price the client had previously been paying. As part of the transition, they migrated the client's payroll data onto Sage's payroll software. This enabled them to identify a number of compliance failures within the existing payroll setup and begin working with the client to address and resolve these issues. The result was not only a significant reduction in payroll costs, but also a more structured payroll environment with greater visibility and an opportunity to address important compliance concerns.
