BIC Report pulling last year's figures

I am consultant for a company running Sage 50, I have this issue only for 2 users. When running BIC report, it is not showing current year but last year's figures.

Are there perhaps old files on the local pc? Installations are local to all computers and companies data on shared file server.

Is there Pervasive installed on the shared file server, if so , then you would need to check the gateway locator on the workstations that they are pointing the correct server. Also it could be that ODBC connection is pointing to the incorrect data location, you can check in PCC and check the file locations for the PAS(COMPANYNAME) DSN Connections, that they are correctly setup to the data location on the file server.

I do not see that affected company in the list after adding the server. The company is not on local drive

    Hi Christo

Please follow the steps below to add the company database manually to your Sage Intelligence

     Deleting the existing database:

     Go to View...Intelligence Reporting...Launch...Report Manager

Right click on Home under the File menu and a screen as shown below will appear

Select PVS.SQL DB Manager from the list

Enter the server name (please note that on Pervasive Workgroup it will be the computer name of the workstation and on a Client/Server Installation it will be the computer name of the Server)

Double click on the Computer name.

Locate the database for the company you want to run your report for

Right Click on this and left click on delete.

Creating a Database using Report Manager:

Right click on the server name and select Add Database Name as shown below

    Enter the database name

The database name should start with PAS19 and then the company folder name e.g. if your company folder is DEMO16, you should enter the database name as PAS19DEMO16 or PAS18DEMO16 depending on the Pastel version you are running.

Select the company folder when prompted to select the DDF File Path as shown below and click OK

Select the company folder when prompted to select the DDF File Path as shown below and click OK

The company will start showing on the databases as shown below. Click on Verify DDF File Path and Verify DAT File Path and ensure that you get the message OK

Once that is done, please run your reports again.

Hi , So I have found that the path is pointing to old file server, which the IT team has not yet decommissioned. I changed the path in one of the companies and verified the DDF and DAT file, all OK, and the report ran correctly.

How can I change the path for all 70 companies at once?

  • I had to change all companies manually, but the solution provided worked as expected.
