Original post
Our next software update, Release 6.4a, is scheduled to be deployed on Wednesday 19 March 2025.
This delay in release is as the result of the rescheduling of the South African 2025/2026 Budget Speech to be delivered on 12 March 2025.
Included in this update:
- South Africa: Tax changes for 2025/2026
- South Africa: Changes on UI19 report
- Namibia: Social Security changes effective March 2025
- Known issues resolved and previous patch/tax files
Take note: The final software release date depends on the changes communicated in the budget speech
Important information to review:
- We recommend users to update their applications as soon as possible.
- The update will recalculate the tax liability from the start of the 2025/2026 tax year for South African users, based on the budget requirements.
- Any reimbursive travel transactions processed in the 2025/2026 tax year will be taxed based on the old prescribed rate of R4.84 until Release 6.4a is installed, when the rate will decrease to R4.76.
- If you process transactions before installing the update, you'll need to delete and reprocess them to apply the correct taxability.
- We recommend waiting until the update is installed before processing reimbursive travel transactions for the 2025/2026 tax year.
- Release 6.4a must be installed before you start your May 2025 payroll. The system won’t let you start a new month on any version before Release 6.4a.
Recommended actions required awaiting the software update release:
- Start your March 2025 pay periods. This will automatically create the 2024/2025 tax year-end instances and backups.
- Continue with normal processing, except for travel reimbursements.
- Update minimum wage codes for ETI (add new codes and link employees).
- Namibia customers: Update the Social Security limits (effective March 2025) and perform a general recalculation.
