President Cyril Ramaphosa declares 15 December 2023 as a public holiday for South Africa.
As per the televised briefing by the President of South Africa, the 15th of December 2023 will be an official public holiday.
This will impact the processing of salary/wage payments for employees and the processing of leave applications.
The public holiday has been updated as of the 16th of November 2023.
We have compiled information in preparation for leave applications over the festive season:
What you need to do on your South African payrolls if you have processed planned leave for December already:
Leave processed on Pastel Payroll Manually.
- Print your Employee Leave Transactions report that includes all transactions with the 15 December 2023 date on Payroll
- The public holiday will be included as of 16 November 2023
- Amend the existing transaction by deleting and recapturing the leave transaction for the same dates
- Print your Employee Leave Transaction Report to include all transactions with 15 December 2023 as a public holiday on Payroll to confirm the changes were applied correctly.
