South Africa: Compensation Fund notice of temporary system shut-down

The Compensation Fund (CF) has a delay in getting ready for the 2024 season (March 2024 – February 2025). They’ve said the system will be closed until 30 April 2025, and will open again on 1 May 2025 at 08:00 for Returns of Earnings (ROE).

  1. From 1 May 2025 to 30 June 2025, businesses can submit their Returns of Earnings.
  2. Because of the delay, the date for the Letters of Good Standing has been extended until 31 May 2025.

The following services will not be available while the system is closed:

  • New employer registrations won’t be processed.
  • Employers won’t be able to declare their earnings, either online or manually.
  • The CF can’t clear employers for audits or handle changes to their assessments.
  • No installment applications will be processed.

However, these services will still be available:

  • The system for processing claims will continue to work.
  • Employers can still generate Letters of Good Standing.
  • Employers can make payments using their CF registration number.

To learn, refer to the notice issued.
