Addressing the SEZ Code Error on EasyFile: How to Resolve It

We've noticed an increase in calls regarding the SEZ error on EasyFile, and today we want to provide guidance on how to resolve this issue. The SEZ code error in EasyFile usually occurs when submitting your tax or business registration information, particularly for businesses operating within Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in South Africa.

Here's how you can solve the SEZ code error in EasyFile:

To solve the error, do the following: 

Pre-submission validation issues are not related to the import files from the Sage software, but an issue on the e@syFile database.

On e@syFile:

  • Select Employer Admin
  • Select an SEZ code (any of the existing ones)
  • Click Update Employer
  • Go back and select 'Please select'
  • Click Update Employer
  • Resubmit the declaration
