Tax year changes can feel overwhelming — but we've done the heavy lifting for you.

Your Sage Business Cloud Payroll has been updated (release ZA.26.03.05) with everything from the 2026 Budget Speech, effective 1 March 2026. Here's what's been taken care of:

• Updated tax tables — new brackets, rebates, and thresholds are all loaded
• Retirement fund contribution limit increased from R350 000 to R430 000 per annum
• National Minimum Wage updated to R30.23/hour (make sure your employee rates are correct for ETI purposes)
• Reimbursive travel rate increased to R4.95/km (previously R4.76)
• Long service award exemption increased from R5 000 to R16 000
• Occupational death lump sum exemption increased from R300 000 to R800 000
• Negative PAYE/UIF/SDL values will now be set to zero from March 2026
