UIF Declaration

SOLVED

Good day!

I am submitting the UIF Declarations live every  month for all the payroll companies on my books.

I also receive confirmation from "[email protected]" that the "LIVE" file was received, no errors found.

Roughly 3 or 4 weeks later, I also receive an email with an attached file from DOL with the information that was submitted.

This information, however, does not reflect on u-filing.

Am I doing something wrong?

    Hello  '

Great question and I hope my answer will be able to assist everyone in the community.

So each month you need to run your  declaration to SARS this means submitting your EMP201 Report to SARS so that SARS has an overview of the amount of PAYE, UIF and SDL your employees contribute.

Then you also need to run your UIF declaration as well to the Department of Labour- This is your declaration to the Department of Labour of how much your employee and you (the employer ) contribute to SARS.

Essentially you need to submit two separate reports, the EMP201 report to SARS and your UIF declaration report to the Department of Labour.

Hope this makes sense- If it does please click on verify answer.

I can confirm that the physical payment for the PAYE, UIF and SDL is made on e-filing from the EMP201.

The actual EMP201 report is however not sent to SARS

The UIF declarations are run on the tab – for which I receive 2 confirmation emails from UIF that it was successfully received -

    1. Confirming submission
    2. Attaching a file with the employee info (viewable as a note document)

       thn you're doing everything correct

Just keep the attached file with the employee information that will come in handy in case the department of labour states otherwise.

Thank you.  I am thankful to have saved all the EMP201s, as well as the UIF declaration report from Sage, as well as the confirmations received from UIF.

I would like to confirm that UIF takes an employer to the CCMA for non-compliance

that we would not know, the best person to advise on such matters is a Tax practitioner.
