The amended Employment Equity Regulations were promulgated on 15 April 2025 in Government Gazette No. 52515. These regulations introduce a new template for report submissions.
Key Deadlines and Requirements:
- Designated employers must prepare and implement an Employment Equity Plan for the period from 1 September 2025 until 31 August 2030 (This means that employers are required to create new 1-year and 5-year plans).
- Manual submissions period: 1 September to first working day of October (deadline is first working day of October).
- Electronic submission period: 1 September to 15 January of the next year (deadline is 15 January).
Note: The Equity Module for Sage VIP Classic and Premier allows you to extract your payroll information to complete your reporting. Our Product Delivery team is currently reviewing the changes to the report, and the updated Equity report templates will be released in a future software update.

The next software update, Release 6.5a—scheduled for mid-September 2025—will include the changes to the Employment Equity report.
