We will make our next software update, Release 6.6a, available on Thursday, 12 March 2026, on the Sage Portal.

- OID report: Clarification on which earnings to include
Kenya

- Sage Network amendments
- Resolution of known issues and inclusion of previously released patch and tax files
For Total Solution users, this release also includes updates for Premier ESS and Premier HR. Please plan your downtime to install all updates at the same time.
When to install the update
- South African tax country users must install the update in March 2026
- The system will recalculate tax liability from the start of the 2026/2027 tax year
- All other users must install the update in March or April 2026
- You won’t be able to start your May payroll on any version earlier than Release 6.6a
Reimbursive travel claim transactions
- For the 2026/2027 tax year, the system will calculate tax on reimbursive travel claims using the old prescribed rate of R4.76 until you install Release 6.6a
- After installation, the rate will increase to R4.95
- Until you install the new update, the taxation on the transactions will be incorrect
- If you process transactions before installing the update, you must delete and reprocess them to apply the correct tax treatment
- Job Costing module users must reverse and reprocess transactions through costing imports
Note: We recommend waiting until you install the update before processing reimbursive travel claims for the 2026/2027 tax year.
Relink companies to your Sage account
In March 2025, users linked their companies to their Sage accounts as part of the system changes.
- Security tokens expire after one year for companies linked with your Sage account
- When your token expires, expect to re‑enter your Sage account details to access the company
- The system will open a Sage account screen and ask you to complete your login credentials
Recommended actions before the update is released
- Create a tax year‑end copy system (for submission purposes).
- Create backups and start March 2026 pay periods.
- Continue normal processing, excluding travel reimbursements (if possible).
- Update minimum wage rates for affected employees.
- Update minimum wage codes for ETI (add new codes and link employees).
Once you install the Release 6.6a update, the tax will recalculate for your South African companies.
