South Africa: Employer Annual Reconciliation Declarations (EMP501) - 1 April to 31 May 2026

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) confirmed the  Employer Annual Declaration period opens on 1 April 2026 and closes on 31 May 2026.

Visit the SARS website for more information.

During this period, SARS will host Technical Clinics and live social media Q&A sessions  to assist employers and ensure a smooth submission process.

Valid Income Tax Reference Numbers are mandatory for employer submissions. Employers should verify employee details early and register employees where required before submitting. Missing or invalid Income Tax Reference Numbers will prevent certificates from being captured or result in incomplete submissions, leading to delays and non‑compliance.
