A new patch file now available for SMART reporting for Sage VIP Classic and Premier on the Sage Portal, released  on 10 April 2026.

The patch addresses the following:

• 'Runtime 13 Type mismatch' error when running the Multi-period Costing and Advanced Multiperiod reports

Please note:

• The patch file is for SMART Version 16.10.0.1 

How to download and install the patch file:

1. Access the Sage Portal. 
2. Select Product Updates.
3. Select SMART.
4. Select SMART for Sage VIP - Version 16.10.0.1.
5. Locate the Multiperiod reports patch file in the Additional Downloads/Patch files section:
   
6. Click Download.
7. Extract the contents of the ZIP file directly into your payroll system folder.
8. When prompted, select Replace to overwrite the existing files.
   The files will be extracted to the following subfolder in your Payroll directory: \VIPSMART\Templates\Financial
